Plain English: we collect what we need to schedule and hold your free consultation call, we measure how people find the site, and we never sell your information.
Who we are
Skills in Bloom Pediatric Occupational Therapy is a pediatric occupational therapy practice based in Hampton, Virginia, offering in-home and telehealth services. This policy explains what we collect through skillsinbloom.com, why, and what you can do about it. Questions go to hello@skillsinbloom.com.
Information you give us
When you book a consultation call, we collect your name, phone number and email address, and — if you choose to share them — your child's age and any notes or concerns you'd like Ebony to know before the call. You are always the one who decides how much to share; the age and notes fields are optional.
If you reach us by phone, our phone assistant may take a message for Ebony containing your name, callback number, when you're free, and what you'd like to talk about, so she can call you back.
We use this information only to schedule and hold the consultation you asked for, to send you a confirmation and calendar invite, and to contact you about that appointment. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing.
Information about your child
Anything you tell us about your child through the booking form or on the phone is provided by you as their parent or guardian. It is held confidentially, is seen only by Ebony and the systems that deliver it to her, and is used solely to prepare for and carry out your consultation. This website does not collect information from children directly and is not directed at children.
The booking site is a scheduling tool, not a clinical records system. Health information you share once you become a client is kept in our clinical records, which are handled under separate practice policies and applicable law; if you would prefer not to put health details in the booking form, you can leave the notes field blank and talk with Ebony on the call instead.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server records standard request logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting.
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages people find useful and how they arrive at the site. We use this to improve the site, not to identify individual visitors.
Cookies and how to refuse them
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Ours fall into two groups:
- Necessary — needed for the booking form to work correctly.
- Analytics — if enabled, used to count visits and see which pages are read.
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not stop you from booking a consultation.
Who else can see your information
We share information only with services that make the site and our scheduling work:
- Email and calendar providers — the email account and calendar Ebony uses to run the practice, which receive your booking details and calendar invite.
- Our phone assistant provider — if you call the practice line, the call is handled by an automated assistant that passes your message to Ebony.
- Our web host — stores the site, the booking database and its logs.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it. Otherwise, your details stay with Ebony and the practice.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as needed to hold the consultation and follow up on it, and thereafter as required for our business records. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes. If you ask us to delete a booking record, we will do so once the appointment has passed or been cancelled.
Your choices
Ask us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you or your child by emailing hello@skillsinbloom.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. Every confirmation email also includes a link you can use to change or cancel your appointment yourself.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. Contact us and we will honor them.
Children
This site is meant for parents, guardians and caregivers. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children directly. Information about a child is only ever provided to us by their parent or guardian.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and move the effective date below. Material changes will be noted clearly.
